We spend a lot of time determining what is valuable in our day to day. So what is value and why is it so important?
In simple terms, value is taking materials or resources to produce something that solves problems for living things. A hair tie pull one’s hair back so its cooling and contained or even stylish. Music provides stimulation to invoke emotions, joy or elevation in mood- we can’t get enough. Problems generally have a wide subjective spectrum of importance, so it can be challenging pinning down who values what when and how much. Not to mention, there’s both internal and external problems constantly in flux to the individuals environments and circumstances. Maslow’s Hierarchy of Needs do a great job explaining this.
